Day 37

Today Jim left the boat, he caught a bus and 2 trains to St Malo and hopefully will waken up for his alarm at 4.30am for the ferry back to Poole.  Bearing in mind this is the first real bed he’s been in for 5 weeks.

Nick and Paul had a day ashore exploring the standing stones at Carnac.

This time, after a quick coffee and croissant, they found the correct bus stop and after a short ride got to the small town of Carnac.  After a look round the archaeological museum and a coffee and madelaine (which didn't prompt any memories of times past) they set off on a walking trail that took them through woods and fields to the stone alignments - impressive rows of standing stones that stretched for a mile or so.

They got back to Carnac in the late afternoon and refreshed themselves with beers and coffee, then again found the correct bus back to the boat at La Trinite. Altogether a successful day with the opportunity to stretch their legs after days spent aboard the boat.
