Before leaving A Coruna we refuelled. This required us to motor past a. Very unusual Catamaran a Sunreef 80 Eco named OCN. https://sunreef-yachts-eco.com/en/80-sunreef-power-eco This is not the exact yacht but gives a flavour of the capabilities of the Cat. Yours fully fitted for 6 million Euros.
We departed around 10 am under a beautiful sunny morning but little wind. As the day progressed we motored, motor sailed, sailed and motored!
No hitchhikers today all straight forward, until about 2 hours from our destination of the Ria de Cedeira, Paul noticed that the sailing rig looked a bit strange. We immediately took down the sails and continued under motor to the anchorage.
This evening we have checked the mast, spacers and shrouds, all seem okay, but possibly a little loose. So tomorrow we are going to try the sails again, but with very careful observation of how the load of the wind impacts. Nick will talk to the riggers and then we will either have to look for repairs or carry on. Depending upon what we find.
