Day 14

We set off today to further explore the Ria, the morning started with poor weather but got warmer as the day progressed.   The wind was very good with occasional gusts but overall a great sail around the bay.

We had a look up the Ria to the port of Ferrol, it looked very pretty and very narrow.  We were surprised at the size of the ship docked in the port, wouldn’t liked to have met that coming down the channel.

We then moved to another small town in the Ria called Arras.  We have anchored in the Sandy bay in front of the town for the night and hope to leave around 2.00 am.  For our first step to get round Finisterre to the Ria de Camarinas.  We have raised an anchor this is a day shape that tells other boats that we are at anchor.  At night it is replaced by a single white light.  In the UK it is unusual to see anyone other than sailing schools using day shapes.  But in Spain, seemingly there is a fine for a skipper not displaying them.

Miles run 19.
